DNS in retrospect: global history through a regional lens
Session participants will focus on the history of relations between regional TLD registries and international organizations. Those directly involved in various developments will discuss the origins of initial working projects with foreign partners, West-East experience exchanges, the creation of Russian domain space, and the appearance of the first national domains. The “fathers” of the modern regional Internet will address the participants. Other speakers will relate how the formation and development of the Runet was perceived outside Russia.
